TR!P. A Journey starts here.

(When I say TR!P, it actually stands for TRIP. But since its the name of my movie, I wanted it to be a bit out of the box, that's why the "!" usage.)

In the movie Inception, Leonardo DiCaprio says a great line.

What's the most resilient parasite? An idea. A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules.

This movie was also born from an idea. An idea that came from a dream. I am not sure how well the people who will watch it are gonna accept it. The guys who are part of the TEAM liked it and also few friends who had the time to listen to me. This response lead us to take the ultimate step, that is to actually film this.

The story is quite complex and we needed specific locations to film it.

A FOREST.

With all the deforestation stuff going around, I wasn't very sure about how we were gonna find one. Vimal, my friend and partner in crime, was very confident. And it didn't take long before we got the first hit.

MAHAGONY THOTTAM.

After some googling I came to see some pics of the place and was very excited.

"THIS IS MY LOCATION".

So one morning we started our journey that the people in INDUSTRY call RECCE. It was eventful.

We reached the place only to be told that no one is allowed inside as some students had lost their lifes few days ago. They drowned in a river that flows through the forest. We told the forest officials why we were there. They were good kind people and hence they told us what needs to be done to get in. We thanked them and came back. We had somewhere else to go before we could enter the forest. We had to get a NOC from the DFO. We decided to make that journey the other day.

But some  unexpected events came up and we had to postpone it. Then one fine morning we were on our way to meet the DFO. 15 minutes into journey, the bus that we were travelling in had a crash. 3 seconds after that, the driver, conductor and the cleaner, VANISHED.
5 minutes after that it started raining.

So somehow we reached the office of the DFO, drenched in rain and sweat. We managed to enter the office. Where we got to hear some rules and regulations regarding film shooting inside a forest. I felt like a Brahman forced to eat mutton.
To shoot in the forest, we have to pay.
Ten thousand a day and five thousand as a refundable deposit. That is 15,000 INR, per day.

It might sound cheap to some, but for us, it was huge. Especially since our budget was 15,000 INR.

So we returned, defeated and dejected.

Did I mention that the movie is a suspense thriller?, well, It is. So was our journey.

Standing at the Perumbavoor Bus stand, waiting for a bus to Eranakulam, I had this weird idea to call up a colleague to tell him what happened. He came down to meet us at the stand, with a car and a good news.

So we went on a journey again, this time to  another forest.

IRINGOLE KAVU.

With all that was happening, I was not in a very great mood. But still we made the journey. It was still raining and we had a car, so what the heck.

AND I don't know how much I thanked myself for having made the phone call. This was it.

"THIS IS MY LOCATION, AGAIN".

It actually is a temple property, or at least that's what we were told by many. We talked to the temple authorities, discussed the rates, decided the dates, went to the location again to decide the scenes, made the phone calls, rented the equipment's.

We were set, To Shoot.
And Shoot we did.

There was no rain, though we had some cloud cover. Which I am told will lead to light discontinuity. But I think my editor will take care of that in the POST.

AMEN.
(It was a good movie, hope mine is too...)
